   common pathologies
        *mastitis:Bovine mastitis is the persistent, inflammatory reaction of the udder tissue due to physical trauma or microorganisms infections. Mastitis, a potentially fatal mammary gland infection.This disease can be identified by abnormalities in the udder such as swelling, heat, redness, hardness, or pain  other indications of mastitis may be abnormalities in milk.

        *foot and mouth disease: is a severe, highly contagious viral disease.The disease is caused by a virus of which there are seven ‘types’.Symptoms are fever, bilsters in the mouth and on feet, weight loss and lameness.No treatment, infected animals are usually slaughtered.

        *leptospirosis:Leptospirosis is a zoonotic disease, caused by bacteria of genus Leptospira.The clinical signs of Lepto depend on the herd’s degree of resistance or immunity and the age of the animal infected. The infertility that can result from persistent reproductive tract infections is perhaps the most economically damaging aspect of leptospirosis.Antibiotic therapy should be prescribed for animals with leptospirosis Infected animals should be segregated from others to avoid transmission of the disease

Why do you want to be a vet?

When i was a child, i wanted to be a vet or doctor because i like the idea of helping. In the high school i liked the arts and crafts and in one moment i thought about studying architecture but later i realized it was not for me. In the present, i am student of veterinary medicine, i selected veterinary because my love for the animals is very big and i wanted to mix the sciences and veterinary medicine. My experience in the university is very good. I know more people and i study what i like, although it is a little hard and the level of stress is very high. When I finish my career, i would like to have my own veterinary clinic in the south of Chile, i still do not decide the place, but i like the city of Valdivia, but to have my own clinic i have to work first and save  money. I also like the idea of ​​going to work in another country.
